Faculty Development Program on Free and Open Source Software 23-27 NOVEMBER, 2009Venue : Jaya Engineering College, Thiruninravur, Chennai – 602 024 **************************************************************************** The FDP is funded by The National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India. Its jointly organized by FOSSEE Project, IIT Bombay and Jaya Engineering College. The main objective of the FDP is* To cover the FOSS elective for B.E CSE and B.Tech IT as per the Anna University Chennai curriculam.* To impart a first hand knowledge on FOSS philosophy and Methodology.* To enable the Participants to promote and adopt various open source tools.* To train the faculty to use GNU/Linux for their academic lab courses.This FDP is aimed at introducing Free and Open Source Softwares to teachers of Engineering Colleges, with a strong emphasis on hands-on training so that they can in turn train their students on this critical component of modern I.T. Infrastructure. FDP will be completely hands on. Lab sessions will be arranged to make participants familiar with course content. There is no registration fee.
